The image processing device includes an extraction section that extracts an edge component from the image, an edge enhancing section that enhances the edge component by performing low-pass filter processing on the edge component after performing full-wave rectification processing on the edge component, a combining section that combines the enhanced edge component with the image to generate a composite image, and a resolution conversion section that performs resolution conversion of the composite image to match a resolution of the composite image with the resolution of the display unit.
