A cutting head includes a cutting unit, preferably an ultrasound unit, with a device for cutting the multiple package, and a control is operatively connected to the cutting head and to the holding device in order to control relative movement between the cutting unit and the multiple package in accordance with a cutting scheme which is predetermined or is defined in real time, and which depends on the configuration of the multiple package.
