A planar microstrip microwave transceiver employing a chip on board design where all components can be surface mounted. The transceiver employs a surface mounted FET chip in a low Q oscillator and a pair of surface mounted Schottky chips in balanced mixer, all of which are wire bonded to microstrip circuitry.
