The elastic layer is formed into a shape for being pressed against the clothing teeth, wire, or cylinder of the textile machine, and is formed of a material such that the elastic layer is worn by the clothing teeth, wire, or cylinder. In this way, the underlying embedded grinding elements are exposed.
