An ink comprising water, a water-dissipatable polymer and one or more dyes having a benzene ring carrying a hydroxy group at each of the 1-, 3- and 5-positions and an azo group at each of the 2-, 4- and 6-positions or a tautomer thereof.Also claimed are certain dyes, compositions printer cartridges and ink jet printers.
