Dye images of high color yield and high gradation are obtained with a color photographic recording material containing 2-equivalent yellow couplers corresponding to formula I, particularly in modern rapid processing methods or in developers free from benzyl alcohol. ##STR1## R.sup.1, R.sup.2 (same or different) represent hydrogen, alkyl or halogen; R.sup.3 represents alkoxyalkyl or an alkyl radical substituted by a heterocyclic group containing at least one oxygen atom;R.sup.4 represents alkyl or aryl;R.sup.5 represents halogen or alkoxy;R.sup.6 represents hydrogen, alkoxy, amino, acylamino or carbamoyl;represents alkoxy, acylamino, carbalkoxy, carbamoyl or sulfamoyl.
