Azo dyes of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is the radical of a coupling component of the pyridine or pyridone series are disclosed; said dyes having brilliant greenish-yellow shades, high substantivity, good lightfastness and fastness to water, and suitable for dyeing and printing materials such as silk, leather, wood, polyamide, polyurethanes and cellulosic material of fibrous structure.
