PER-RANK UPLINK AND DOWNLINK BEAM SELECTION
Abstract:
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for per-rank uplink and downlink beam selection. An example method, performed at a user equipment (UE), generally includes measuring channel state information (CSI) reference signals (CSI-RS) associated with a plurality of beams, determining an uplink rank and a downlink rank, selecting, from the plurality of beams, a downlink beam for processing downlink transmissions, based on the CSI RS measurements and the downlink rank, and selecting, from the plurality of beams, an uplink beam for processing uplink transmissions, based on the CSI RS measurements, the uplink rank, and the downlink rank.
