The invention relates to a lighting device for a vehicle having at least one lighting channel for generating a holographic light function assigned to this lighting channel by lighting a holographic structure of the lighting channel. Each channel includes a lighting assembly and a coupling-in surface of a light guide body disposed along a main beam direction of the lighting assembly. The lighting device also includes a holographic structure disposed on the coupling-out surface of the light guide body. The coupling-out surface is disposed in a beam path of the coupled-in light beams, so that lighting of the coupling-out surface takes place at an angle which is greater than a critical angle of the total reflection.
