In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may set a hyper frame length based at least in part on a cadence of multimedia data bursts if discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle are configured for the cadence of the multimedia data bursts. The UE may receive the multimedia data bursts according to the DRX cycles. Numerous other aspects are described.
