The method comprises different steps, such as receiving a request for access to a shared resource, wherein after the allocation of the requested shared resource to the requesting unit, a prescribed real-time requirement is to be ensured by the multiprocessor computer system. Based on the operating parameters determined for a design time of the multiprocessor computer system and current operating parameters, future operating parameters to be expected after an allocation of the requested shared resource are determined. If the prescribed real-time requirement operating parameters is to be ensured in the future, the requested resource is allocated to the requesting unit.
