A digital dimmable driver system includes an alternating current input, a phase cut dimmer operable to perform a phase cut operation on a waveform from the alternating current input, a rectifier operable to rectify an output of the phase cut dimmer, a phase processor operable to detect a phase angle on-time of the phase cut dimmer, and a driver circuit operable to produce an output current proportional to the phase angle on-time.
