I claim an applicator component retainer for quickly detaching and attaching disposable components comprising of paint brush heads, paint roller covers, dusting feathers, dusting cloths, cleaning cloths, chemical wipes and sandpaper onto a hand tool applicator shaft, said applicator component retainer comprises:an elongated hollow member,a slot,and at least one recessed member,whereby said slot is positioned along the entire length of said elongated hollow member and whereby said slot creates an opening all the way from the outside to the inside of said elongated hollow member, and whereby recessed member extends from the elongated hollow member and whereby said recessed member is recessed away from the top of the slot forming material at a smaller height below the slot.
