The backlight unit includes: an upper substrate; and a plurality of light source units disposed under the upper substrate, in which the light source unit includes an upper electrode, a lower electrode, and an inorganic emission layer disposed between the upper electrode and the lower electrode, and in the adjacent light source units among the plurality of light source units, at least one of the upper electrodes and the lower electrodes are electrically separated from each other.
