For example, a method of wireless communication can include receiving a default wake-up configuration associated with a discontinuous reception (DRX) operation; monitoring, during a wake-up signal (WUS) occasion, for a WUS; determining whether the WUS was received during the WUS occasion; and performing physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) monitoring based on the default wake-up configuration and whether the WUS was received during the WUS occasion.
