A compensation method for an effect of lane grooves in a roadway on driving behavior of a vehicle is performed, wherein lane grooves are detected by a device designed for this purpose such as a stereocamera. Information regarding a character of the lane grooves is transmitted to a control device, and control commands are transmitted by the control device to a steering device of the vehicle, or toactuators of vehicle wheels, in order to counteract the effect of the lane grooves on the driving behavior.
