A bone anchoring element is provided comprising an anchoring section (41) for anchoring in the bone and a receiving part (43) connected to the anchoring section, wherein the receiving part (43) comprises an opening (45) suitable for accommodation of a stabilization rod (2,20) having a rod axis, the opening (45) being limited perpendicular to the rod axis by two side walls (46a,46b), characterizedin that the side walls (46a,46b) comprise guides (47a,47b;47a',47b';470a,470b) orientated parallel to the rod axis for guiding at least one connection rod (3,3',3'') therethrough.
